John J. Baglione of 512 N. 7th Street, died, Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family.
Mr. Baglione was born June 24, 1930 in Olean and was a son of Bernard and Maria Rose Oliva Baglione. On Feb. 23, 1952 in St. Mary of the Angels Church, he married his wife of almost 58 years Ruth I. Cole, who survives.
Mr. Baglione learned how to cook at the Ho-Sta-Geh Restaurant where he worked for about 10 years. He then cooked at Moonwinks in Cuba and then the Century Manor Restaurant. After moving to Orlando, Fl, he work as a cook for Walt Disney World in a number of their restaurants in the theme park. He returned to Olean in 1993 and cooked for the Century Manor, Olean Eagles and Olean Elks until the fall of 2007. Mr. Baglione was a member St. John's Church in North Olean. He enjoyed cooking, watching football and most of all taking trips to Las Vegas, which he had done with his grandson as recently as three weeks ago.
Surviving Mr. Baglione besides his wife are a daughter, Darlene M. (Terry) Biehler of Olean, NY; two grandchildren, Chris (Lenore) Biehler and Tara Kenyon; five special great grandchildren, River & Justin Keith, Brooke, Nicholas & Madison Kenyon; a brother, Angelo (Rose) Baglione of Olean; a half sister, Mary Blazjewski of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Baglione was pre-deceased by a brother, Frank L. Baglione on March 12, 2007; an infant brother, Bernard Baglione; an infant sister, Maria Baglione; a half brother, Joseph Leone; and two half sisters, Louise Leone and Katie Kloc.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. The Rev. Edward J. Sheedy, Pastor of St. John's Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
