Jeanne M. Jolley, 69, of 217 Rowland Ave., passed away Friday, October 12, 2012, at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.
Jeanne was born on Sept. 17, 1943 in Olean and was the daughter of Robert and Florence Pachla Sherman.
Jeanne was a graduate of Olean High School class of 1961 and SUNY Geneseo class of 1965 with a Bachelor's in Education. She continued her education receiving two Masters from St. Bonaventure and Geneseo, one in Reading and the other in Special Education.
Jeanne taught for BOCES in the Olean School system primarily at East View Elementary School. She retired after a lifetime of teaching in 2004.
Jeanne was a member of St Stephen's Episcopal Church, United BOCES Teachers Association, and a member of Alpha Kappa Phi Sorority of Geneseo. She enjoyed reading, painting, gardening, and enjoyed going to car shows with Fred. Jeanne also truly enjoyed traveling in the US. She traveled more extensively after retirement having gone to places in the Far East and London. But most of all Jeanne was known for her love of her family, her children, and her desire to make sure everyone was OK.
Surviving Jeanne are her companion of 25 years, Fred Musolff of Ellicottville; a son, Stephen (Elizabeth) Jolley of Clearwater, FL.; three daughters, Christine (Charles Curd) Dittman of Olean, Summer (Anthony P. Procacci) Jolley of Hinsdale, and Tracy Jolley of Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Abigail Jolley; a brother, Robert (Lucille) Sherman of Olean; a sister, Judith Williar of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was pre-deceased by a son, David Andrew Jolley in 1975; and a brother in law Dow Williar.
Funeral services will be held in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc #646 E. State Street, Olean on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Lisa Peterangelo, Chaplain at the Sisters Hospital in Buffalo, will officiate. Visitation will follow the funeral service and continue until 6:00 pm.
