Janet M. Ellis of 214 N. Clinton St. passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at home following courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Ellis was born August 14, 1961 in West Field, NY and was a daughter of James and Frances Roemer, O'Rourke. On June 13, 2003 in Gram TX. she married Elmer E. Ellis who survives.
Mrs. Ellis was a graduate of Brockton Central School Class of 1980. She worked for a number of years as a cook at Jamestown Community College in Olean where she was also involved in working and cooking for there banquets. In 2004 she stopped working due to her illness.
Mrs. Ellis enjoyed making a House a Home, being in the outdoors hiking & walking and she loved animals including her three cats. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grand children whom she truly loved.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her step father James O'Rourke of Fredonia; a son, Joseph P. Perkins of Olean; a stepson, Khristerpher M. Ellis of Salamanca; a stepdaughter, Melinda N. Ellis of Salamanca; one brother, Stephen L. Bonner; one sister, Dorothy A. (Kirk) Bennett of Fredonia; her mother in law, Judy A. McNeil of Olean; four grandchildren, Patrick Perkins, Joshua Perkins, Brennen Adams and Adien Ellis; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2009 from 6-8 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Where funeral services will be held on Wednesday Jan. 13, 2010 at 11:00A.M. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor of St, Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dunkirk, NY.
In lieu of Flowers memorials can be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Buffalo.
