Olean – James P. Stadtler "Loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather"
James P. Stadtler, of 1503 Washington Street, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Buffalo General Hospital, following an illness.
Jim was born on December 19, 1935 in Corning and was a son of Louis A. and Dorothy R. Wolf Stadtler. On May 30, 1959, in Buffalo, he married his wife of 62 years, Judith M. Walters, who survives.
Jim was a 1953 graduate of Olean High School. He worked at the family store, Stadtler Market, throughout his whole life until it closed the in 1989. Jim then worked at the Olean General Hospital as a Currier and at the Old Library as a Meat Carver. He was a social member of the Eagles. Jim loved all animals, especially his pets, birds, and squirrels.
Along with his loving wife, Judith, Jim is survived by; 5 children, Paul D. (Marlene) Stadtler, J. Gregory Stadtler, and Dianna M. Stadtler all of Olean, Cynthia L. (Lance) Reynolds of Cuba, and Melinda Stadtler of Olean; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Kara, Jenelle, Brett, Shae, Alex, Nicole, Kurt, Alison, and Karsten; 5 great grandchildren, Xander, Brody, Brielle, Evie, and Izzy; a brother, Michael L. (Linda) Stadtler and his family Laura (Derek) Watkins and Michael Stadtler of Sayre, PA.
Jim was predeceased by his parents.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, beginning with a Prayer Service at the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels at 10:00 am.
