Olean- James L. “Jim” McMillen “Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather”
James L. “Jim” McMillen of 1660 Haskell Road, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at his home.
Jim was born on September 16, 1949 in Cuba and was the son of Calvin Roy and Evelyn T. Bell McMillen. On June 23, 1990 at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Allegany he married his loving wife of 32 years Alice E. McClain who survives.
Jim was a class of 1967 graduate from Hinsdale Central School. He worked a roofer for 7 years before coming to work on a family farm for a number of years before working for Seagull Scrap Yard retiring around 2007 after 30 years due to his health.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and crafts in both New York and Pennsylvania. He loved attending craft shows.
Along with his loving wife, Alice, Jim is survived by; 3 children, Kevin R. (Kristie) McMillen of Waverly, Kansas, Robin L. (Lee) Allen of Friendship and Mary Beth Seeley of Olean; 8 Grandchildren, Christopher Cleveland, Jennifer Cleveland Margeson, Jamie (Joey) Meador, Eric Seeley, Alyson Seeley, Sean (Abby) Robertson, Calvin McMillen and Evelyn McMillen; 6 great grandchildren, Jenna, Tayten, Jaydalyn, Natalie, Niall and Harper.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and brother George McMillen.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean, on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at which time a funeral service will be held.
