Olean – James H. Dunn "Loving Father & Grandpa"
James H. Dunn of 1570 East River Road, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021 in the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, following an illness.
Jim was born October 22, 1940 in Angelica and was a son of John L. & Mildred Babinger Dunn. In May of 1991 he married Roberta L. Porter who predeceased him, on Feb. 6, 2021
Jim was raised by his uncle James H. & Lucinda Babinger and attended Portville Central School. He worked at Clark Brothers as a machinist before going to work for the Cattaraugus County School System as a Maintenance Engineer where he retired from in 1998. He also owned and operated a recycling business for many years thought out his life.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, a woodworker making household items and crafts such as Clocks, chests, hall trees and cutting boards that he would sell. Jim also even built 2 house boats kiddo I and kiddo II the he would keep at Onoville Marine on the Alleghany reservoir and he enjoyed making his own fishing lures. He was a member of the NRA and a hunting & trapping association.
James is survived by; 2 children, James R. Dunn of St. Petersburg, FL and Lorena E. (Stanley) Lucynski; 6 grandchildren, Mary, Kori, James, Bonnie, Erica & Amber; 6 step-children, Rick Lee Giles of Allegany, Phillip D. Middaugh of Almond, Vicki L. (Matt) Gray of Olean, Crist D. Middaugh of Honduras, Suzanne R. (John) Derx of Olean and Florida, and Robert A. Middaugh of Olean and 16 step grandchildren Bryant, Brett, Ricky Jr., Kristy, Nicole, Michelle, Kyle, James, Bobby, Jennifer, Andy, Brian, Brandon, Monte, Cristin and Valerio and many great grandchildren including Thomas and Makaya.
Jim was pre-deceased by his parents, and siblings John Dunn in 2001 and Agnes Dunn in 2021
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Wednesday Dec. 1, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at which time Funeral & Committal services will be held. The Rev. Steven W.
