Irene C. Millard of Hinsdale passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday March 9, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Millard was born January 9, 1923, a daughter of Guy and Dora Lucinda Daman Morris. On November 20, 1940 in Belfast she married her husband of 50 years, Robert C. Millard who predeceased her January 28, 1991. Mrs. Millard was known as "Grandma" to many that knew her. For 35 years she was employed as a nurses aide for Allegany Nursing Home, in Allegany. Known for her collection of frogs, she also loved birds, cooking, and old movies but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Millard are two grandchildren, Francis A. (Sherry) Bastow of Olean, and Thomas W. Bastow of Allegany; three step great grandchildren, James (Donielle) Skinner of Portville, Frederick Skinner of Olean, and Sonyea Skinner of Olean; two great-great grandchildren, Marcus and Maddison Skinner of Portville; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Millard was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth D. Bastow; four grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Theresa, Lycinda, and Deanna Bastow; and eight brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. 646 East State Street, Olean, Saturday March 12, 2011 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Jay A. Gilbert, pastor of The Rock of Revelation Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hinsdale Fire Department, Hinsdale, New York 14743. Online condolences may be made by clicking on the button above.
