Ila B. Edwards

Ila B. Edwards 93, of 1582 County Rt. 60, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family in Taylors SC. Mrs. Edwards was born on August 29, 1916 in Adrian, N.Y. and was the daughter of William and Lura VanHouton Parks. On Nov. 26, 1936 she married Wyman House, who predeceased her on July 9, 1950. On March 8, 1952, in Canisteo, N.Y. she married Nathan B. Edwards Sr. who survives. Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker and a hard working farmwife, who took great pleasure in walks and reading. But most of all she truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and especially her grand and great grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Edwards besides her husband of 57 years are her four children, Barbara A. Eisenbeis of Scotts Valley, Calif., Nathan B. (Virginia) Edwards Jr. of Rexville, N.Y., JoAnne E. (Jack) Zeager of Taylors, S.C., and Polly D. (David) Pinho of Pleasanton, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Beverly A House-Stroud of Deland, Fla.; 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Edwards was predeceased by a son, Richard L. House; a daughter, Cheryl Kay House; a son-in-law, Alan Eisenbeis; two brothers, Elmer and Milford Parks; and a sister, Carrie Cook. Friends will be received at Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 24 Genesee Pkwy., Cuba, NY, Saturday October 31, 2009 from 9:00-11:00 AM, in which a Memorial Service will be held. Mr. Charles R. Emerson, Outreach Pastor of the Alfred-Almond Bible Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to the Whitesville Library, Whitesville, New York 14897 or to the WINYAH Community Hospice Care, 880 South Pleasantburg Dr., Suite 1-A, Greenville, South Carolina 29607.
