Harry G. Budinger of 107 West Street, Olean passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, following a lengthy illness.
Bud was born Nov. 30, 1948 in Wellsville and was a son of Kenneth Edward and Millicent Marie Hale Budinger. He was formerly married to Rachael VanAernam.
Bud was a 1967 graduate of Angelica High School. Bud served his county during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army from April 11, 1968 to April 10, 1974. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, and the Vietnam Service Medal w/Five Bronze Service Stars during his service.
Following the war, Bud worked at Halliburton in Bradford for about five years before becoming a long distance truck driver. He drove from 1980 to 2002 when he stopped working due to his illness. He loved to hunt, travel and he liked his solitude.
Bud has 17 siblings, Marie A. Belec, Kenneth and Patty Budinger, Debby, Larry, Jerry, Terry, John, Peggy, Gary, Marvin, Calvin and Norma James, David King, Cindy, Carl and Steve Budinger.
Friends will be received Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 East State St., Olean from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Funeral and Committal Service will be held at 11:00 am. The Rev. Samuel Marchetta, Chaplin at Home Care & Hospice, will officiate. Full military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post #892 "Ritual Team". Burial will be at the Bath National Cemetery, Bath NY.
