Harold J. Spencer of West Clarksville passed away Tuesday February 12, 2013 at the Olean General Hospital. Born July 14, 1933 in Elmira, NY, Jim was the son of the late Earl Lewis & Laura Mae Kennedy Spencer. He was formerly married to Myrna L. Brittain. Jim worked as a mechanic for Butch Bokmans and Harry Graves & Sons for about 25 years. He also work at Wayne Paving & Worth W. Smiths until about 2003 when he retired. He was a hard working man who enjoyed Hunting, fishing and gardening. He also like a good cold Beer! Jim was a social member of the Cuba Amvets. Jim is survived by Harold James (Sue) Spencer, Jr. of Arden, NC, Clifton Frances (Sharon) Spencer of Cuba, Westley Thomas (Linda) Spencer of Olean, Steve Lewis Spencer of Winston-Salem, NC, David No-el (Teri) Spencer of Ischua, Georgia Lea (Steve) Hellwig of Westons Mills, and Joseph Andrew Spencer of Jamestown; 13 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and a great great grandson. He is also survived by three brothers, John Spencer of Stillwater, OK, Earl Spencer of Wellsboro, PA, and Patrick Spencer of Peniccolla, FL; and two sisters, Fern Louise Graham of Daton Beach, FL and Mary Ann (Bob) Eckman of Millerton, PA. Jim is also survived by his loving companion of the past 25 years Susan M. Austin. Jim was predeceased by a son, William Barkley "Bill" Spencer and a granddaughter, Malena Louise Spencer. Jim is also predeceased by brother & sister, Llewellyn F. Spencer and June G. Royer. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Sat. Feb. 16, 2013 from 10AM to 1PM at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Leslie E. Chambers will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Wellsboro Cemetery, Wellsboro, PA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to West Clarksville Fire Department.
