Olean- Guy E. Richardson Jr. “Loving Father, Grandfather & Brother”

Guy E. Richardson Jr. formerly of 1447 W. Chestnut Street, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Cuba Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility.

Guy was born July 14, 1936 in Olean and was the son of Guy Edward and Dorothy Menter Richardson Sr.  On July 14, 1963 in Weston Mills he married his loving wife of 40 years, Shirley L. James who predeceased him on January 22, 2003.

Guy served in the US Marine Corps from August 3, 1954 to August 2, 1957.  He then worked for Sherwin Blacktop & Construction for 17 years then went to work at the Village of Portville for 18 months then the Olean Times Herald for 8 years.

Guy enjoyed fishing and gardening, but most of all he loved taking care of his wife and family and most of all he loved his grandchildren and loved being with them.

Guy is survived by; 2 daughters, Emma L. (Charles Suriani) Bennett of Bradford, PA and Monica L. (Ed) Miller of Tomball, TX; 3 grandchildren, Amie Ellis, Christopher Herron and Steven Miller; 4 great grandchildren, Dylan, Dustin, Lydia, and Christopher Herron; a brother, Jerry Richardson of Texas. 

Along with his wife, Shirley, Guy was predeceased by; his parents; 3 brothers, Bob, Bill and Danny Richardson.

Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St. on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at which time a memorial service will be held beginning with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 ritual team. Rev. Chad Sayers Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church will officiate.  Burial will be in the Mount View Cemetery Veteran Field of Honor.
