Grant M. Woodruff

Grant M. Woodruff, of 1339 E. Love Joy St., passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Mercy Hospital following an illness. Grant was born Dec. 29, 1961 in Cuba and was a son of Helen Belle Grant Woodruff. He loved the outdoors and the woods. Grant took joy in walking, often several miles a day. He enjoyed listening to old Rock & Roll music. Grant was also an avid sports fan, especially the Sabres and the Bills. He was a true free spirit. Grant was forever thankful for the adult influence of Robert & Gert Searle of Rushford, who treated him like a son. Grant is survived by one son, Damian Woodruff of Niagara Falls; a special friend, Kathy Rush of Buffalo; one granddaughter, Harmony Woodruff of Niagara Falls; one brother, Adriane (Nancy) Woodruff of Arcade; three sisters, Shenandoah (Roger) Freeman of Belfast, Deborah Woodruff "Benjamin" of Franklinville, and Rebecca (Shane) Hurd of Belfast; and several nieces & nephews with a special bond with his niece and nephew, Mackenzie and Nathaniel Hurd. Grant was predeceased by his mother, Helen Belle Grant Woodruff. A private Memorial Gathering will be held by the immediate family at a later date.
