Gladys I. Sharp, formerly of Chipmonk Rd. and Aspen Towers, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Cuba Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Unit.
Gladys was born Feb. 17, 1923 in Wirt, NY and was a daughter of William and Clarice Clara Everson Hosmer. On Oct. 15, 1940, in Wellsville she married her husband of almost 60 years, Dale C. Sharp, who predeceased her on Jan. 23, 2003.
Gladys worked for Daystrom and ACME. She is a former member of the United Methodist Church in Knapp Creek. Gladys enjoyed crocheting, reading, flowers, and mowing the lawn, but most of all she truly loved and enjoyed all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by two sons, Gerald L. (Cheryl) Sharp, and Michael D. (Anita) Sharp both of West Clarksville; three daughters, Dail L. (Bruce) Ellis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda L. (Gregory) Kellogg of Fredonia, and Wendy S. (Terry) Hughes of Umatilla, FL,; 12 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren.
Along with her loving husband, Gladys was predeceased by one grandson, Mark L. Sharp on Dec. 5, 2005; three 3 brothers, Lee, Ike, & Jim Hosmer; and two sisters, Margaret Milks & Marie Sharp.
As per her wishes there will be no public visitation and a private family funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar.
