Hinsdale – Gladys J. Oddo “Loving Aunt”
Gladys J. Oddo of 4189 Route 16 North, passed away on Thursday, July 8 2021 at the Olean General Hospital following an illness.
Gladys was born June 5, 1931 in North Tonawanda and was a daughter of Elmer G. and Alice E. Joseph Fox. On July 1, 1978 in Buffalo she married Salvatore Oddo who predeceased her in Dec. 2005.
Gladys was a 1949 graduate of North Tonawanda High School. She worked at Remington Ram in North Tonawanda for about 20 years and moved to Hinsdale in 1973. Gladys owned and Operated T.J. Maple Manor Restaurant in Maplehurst for more than 20 years until it closed. Later she began driving school bus for the Hinsdale Central School for about 10 until she retired.
Gladys attended St. Helen’s RC Church and was a member of the Hinsdale Senior Dining She enjoyed wintering in Florida, Gardening, caring for house plants, and snowmobiling in her younger years.
Gladys is survived by; a sister, Audrey Gauda of Newfare; several nieces and nephews including her nephew David Fox whom she lived with.
Along with her loving husband, Salvator, Gladys was predeceased by; her parents; a sister, Carol A. Schneider; and 2 brothers, Richard G. Fox and Ronald Fox.
