Mrs. Geraldine V. Thomas of 2580 Canal Ave., Olean passed away on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Olean General Hospital.
Mrs. Thomas was born on January 30, 1929 in Willing, N.Y. and was the daughter of Forrest A. and Jessie L. Fanton Wilson.
Mrs. Thomas attended Olean School. She was a short order cook at a number of places in Olean including Olean House for over 20 years and the Home stead Restaurant where she retired from in about 1984.
Mrs. Thomas enjoyed country music, gardening. Her true love was her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Surviving Mrs. Thomas are two sons, Tom F. (Victorine) Thomas of Allegany, and Dennis L. (Teri Hawley) Thomas of Olean; one daughter, Donna L. (Joseph) Ross of Grand Rapid, MI.; two sisters, Delloeen W. Skrowback of Portville, and the Rev. Pauline L. Wilson of Portville; one daughter in law- Regina Lawton of Warren, PA.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Pauldean Wilson of Allegany; and Life Long Companion- William P. White.
Olean Mrs. Thomas was pre-deceased by one son Cleon D. Lawton on Dec. 1991, and two infant great grandsons.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. at which time Funeral and Committal Services will be held. The Rev. Richard K. Long, Pastor of the Hillside Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
