Gerald W. Kenyon of 301 Andover Place #175 Sun City Center, formerly of Olean passed away at home following an apparent heart attack. Gerry was born Nov. 17, 1945 in Olean and was a son of Fredrick Edward and Eleanor Christina Shearer Kenyon. On Sep. 28, 1991 he married Julie E. Theodore. Gerry served in the Navy from Feb. 12, 1963 to Nov. 16, 1966. He worked for Dresser for a number of years before being appointed as a Patrolman for Olean Police Department on Sep. 10, 1971. He retired after 21 years of service from the Olean Police Department, on March 12, 1992. After his retirement, Gerry also worked as a Security Court Officer for the City of Olean for about 10 years. He moved to Sun City Center, Florida in 2010. Gerry formerly attended St. Mary of the Angels Church. He loved both college and NFL football and was a huge Buffalo Bills Fan. Having had played in a band in his younger years, Gerry loved to sing and dance. Gerry is survived by four children, Kevin M. Kenyon, Christopher M. (Jackie) Kenyon, Autumn L. Kenyon, and Brandon J. Kenyon; two stepchildren, Ashlee M. Theodore, and Kristopher M. Holtz all of Olean; nine grandchildren, Ryleigh, Anthony, Kayleigh, Keirian, Loralei, Brooke, Nicholas, Madison, & Maverick; one sister, Carol Fie of Portville; and two nephews, Daniel Martin & Rick Fie. Gerry was predeceased by a brother, Thomas F. Kenyon who passed away April 6, 2012. Friends will be received Thursday August 14, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean. A Service of the Word with Final Commendation will be held Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. David E. Tourville, Associate Pastor at St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Allegany Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, New York 14760. Online condolences may be made by clicking on the button above.
