Hinsdale – George M. Farwell, Jr. "Life-long Dairy Farmer"
George M. Farwell, Jr., of 1012 Route 446 passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the Sena Kean Manor in Smethport, PA, following a lengthy illness.
George was born on October 3, 1941 in Cuba and was a son of George M. and Cecile Brown Farwell, Sr. On May 9, 1964, in Hinsdale, he married his wife of 54 years, Irene M. Hamilton, who predeceased him on May 12, 2018.
George was a graduate of Hinsdale High School. He was a dairy farmer. George was a member of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church. He liked to go to the races. George loved sports and would root for whatever team was winning. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan.
George is survived by; 2 sons, Richard Farwell of Cuba and Timothy Farwell of Olean; a daughter Lori Farwell of Hinsdale; 6 grandchildren, Jason Crawford of North Carolina, Sara and Cody Goldsmith, Terrance Farwell, and Corie Farwell all of Olean, and Alexa Farwell of Cuba; 4 great grandsons, Liam Kemp, Jayson Crawford, and Ryan and Connor Farwell; 1 great granddaughter, Serenity Crawford; 2 sisters, Betty Rogers and Marilyn Kent; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his loving wife, George was predeceased by a brother, Willard Farwell and 2 sisters, Viola and Sandy.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at which time a Funeral Service will be held.
