George T. Bello of 916 Osgood Avenue passed away Friday March 14, 2014 in the Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
George was born November 10, 1950 in Butler, PA and was the son of Samuel and Margaret McMahon Bello. On June 3, 1972 in Butler he married his High School sweetheart Elizabeth J. Graham, who survives him.
George was a 1969 graduate of Butler Senior High School. He attended McCook Junior College in Nebraska and also served in the National Guard. George worked at the family Auto Body Repair Shop "Bello's Auto Body" in Butler until 1986. He then worked for Blue Bird Bus as an auto body repairman. George became a part owner in Heavenly Body in East Olean before going to work for Amore's Collision in Allegany in about 1993. He attended St. Mary of the Angels Church. George was a grateful member of AA for 26 years. He met with the Monday Night "Friends of Bill W," his home group at St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, watching Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State football, and the St. Bonventure "Bonnies" Basketball. George was a man who took pride in his work, but he was most proud of his daughter, Angie. He also knew that the most important things to him were his family, family traditions, and values.
Along with his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Angelina J. Bello of Olean; one brother, Samuel (Marcia) Bello of Findley, OH; one sister, Catherine (James) Swift of Butler, PA; and many nieces of nephews.
George was predeceased by a stillborn daughter, Sarina Michelle Bello in 1989.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the St. Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson will celebrate.
