Eva C. Yorke, formerly of 309 � West State Street and Eden Heights, passed away Saturday, Sep. 27, 2014, at the Rochester General Hospital, following an illness. Mrs. Yorke was born Jan. 22, 1918 in Olean and was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Nohra Moses. On Oct. 16, 1939, she married her husband of almost 60 years, Louis A. Yorke who predeceased her May 10, 1999. Eva worked in several places in Olean, including Acme Electric, American Tile, Olean Glass Plan, The Triangle Shoe Store, Montgomery Ward, J.C. Penney, Angee's Restaurant, St. Bonaventure University, L'Alcove Restaurant, and the Olean General Hospital. Eva was a member of the St. Joseph's Maronite Rite Catholic Church and served on the St. Joseph's Altar Society. She was very well known for her Lebanese-American cooking. Eva once cooked a Lebanese Dinner for the Old Library Restaurant that they were catering. She also prepared traditional Lebanese food for the St. Joseph's Maharajan every year. Mrs. Yorke is survived by five children, Thomas Yorke of Olean, Stephen (Judy) Yorke of Olean, Lynette (Ronald) Heath of Olean, Mari (Thomas) Marotta of Webster, and Joseph (Tami) Yorke of Allegany; four grandchildren, Damon Yorke, Jeff Heath, Kimberly A. Custer, and Colin Yorke; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Marie Worth, and Rochelle (Max) Baire both of Olean; one sister-in-law, Carol Moses of Olean; one brother-in-law, Frank Kaduc of Olean; and many nieces & nephews. Along with her loving husband, Mrs. Yorke was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary Ann Yorke; two brothers, Moses J. Moses and George Moses; and eight sisters, Bertha Moses, Elia Abdo, Margaret Ehman, Emily Saab, Teckla Maarsen, Lucille Kaduc, Yvonne Harris, and Julia Joseph. Friends will be received Today, Sept. 30, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday Oct. 1, 2014 beginning with a prayer service in the Funeral Home at 9:30 am follow by A Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. Anthony J. Salim, Pastor of St. Joseph Maronite Church, will Celebrate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, #20 Northpointe Parkway, Suite 130, Amherst, New York 14228.
