Etta W. Firkel, of Bolivar Road, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Wellsville Manor Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Etta was born Oct. 8, 1932 in Olean and was the daughter of William and Bina Brown Isaman. On March 27, 1954, she married her husband of 43 years, Mark L. Firkel, who predeceased her in January 1998.
Etta worked for AVX in Olean for 40 years before her retirement. She worked very hard her whole life. Etta enjoyed family gatherings, bingo, doing puzzles, reading, playing cards, and bowling in her younger days. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Etta is survived by three sons, Ronald (Debra) Firkel, Craig (Darlene) Firkel, and Mark (Ann) Firkel all of Olean; one daughter, Darlene Firkel Dearborn of Bolivar; one granddaughter; five grandsons; two great grandchildren; three brothers, William (Carol) Isaman, Keith (Ginger) Isaman, and Paul (Lynn) Isaman; one sister, Sue Isaman; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her loving husband and her parents, Etta was predeceased by three sisters, Kate (Stanley) Blackmon, Donna (Don) Mallery, and June Maine; and one brother, Ronald Isaman.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
