Esther B. Luckey formerly of 8265 Spring Valley Road, passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 in the Absolut at Houghton. Mrs. Luckey was born on April 17, 1914 in Great Valley and was a daughter George and Caroline Williams Bernard. On March 31, 1934 in Cuba she married J. Clark Luckey who pre-deceased her Feb. 26, 2004. Mrs. Luckey was a 1931 graduate of Cuba High School and was a graduate of Westbrook in Olean in 1932. She was the Town of New Hudson Clerk for 28 years when she retired. Mrs. Luckey was a resident of New Hudson for nearly 75 years at their farm on Spring Valley Road. Ester loved to garden and enjoyed the woods around her home. Mrs. Luckey was a member of the Cuba First Baptist Church. She was one of the founding members of the New Hudson Fire Co Aux., a member of the Cuba Grange for almost 70 years, a 4-H Leader for 20 years, and was members of the Co-Operative Extension Committees and Home Bureau. Surviving Mrs. Luckey are a son, James (Marilyn) Luckey of New Hudson; two daughters, Sandra Bonadonna of Spring Hill Fl., and Lynda Moses of Black Creek; 8 grand children, Stephen Bonadonna of Pine Bush NY, Michael (Heather) Bonadonna of Honeoye Falls and their 3 children, Melody (Colin) Moses Chapman of Peoria, AZ and their 2 children, Major Bradley (Stacy) Moses of Raeford, NC and their 2 children, Pamela (Jeff) Moses Lenz of Buffalo and their 3 children, Susanne (Daniel) Luckey Rimberg of Nashville NC and their 3 children, Alicia (Michael) Luckey Bradley of Cuba and their almost 11 Children, and Brett (Kelly) Luckey of Binghamton and their 3 children; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Luckey was pre-deceased by a brother, Neil Bernard; and a sister, Eleanor Emerson. Friends will be received on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba, where Funeral and Committal Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma, Pastor of the Cuba First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Cuba Cemetery, Cuba. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cuba Grange c/o Sandra Green 4237 Rt. 305 Cuba, New York 14727-9726, or to the New Hudson Fire Company Auxiliary c/o Colleen Grail 8543 Tibbetts Hill, Black Creek, New York 14714 or to the SPCA of Allegany County Rt. 19, Wellsville NY 14895.
