Eleanor May Housey

January 19, 1929 — April 6, 2015

Eleanor May Housey, formerly of 445 N. First St. & Aspen Tower, passed away Monday April 6, 2015 in the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home, in Springville. Eleanor was born January 19, 1929 in Machias and was a daughter of William and Noreen Foster Meyer. On May 15, 1951 in St. Joseph Church she married her loving husband of 54 years Ferris J. Housey, who predeceased On October 24, 2005. Eleanor was a graduate of Franklinville Central School in 1947. She worked for ACME in both Allegany and Cuba for her entire working career. Eleanor was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She enjoyed working outside around the house, planting flowers & mowing the lawn. Eleanor also enjoyed square dancing, watching the Buffalo Bills & Buffalo Sabres and was Bonnies fan. Eleanor is survived by one son, Gary F. Housey of Wallington, NJ; and one brother, Gordon W. Meyers of Olean; Along with her loving husband, Eleanor was predeceased by a son, Charles J. Housey on Jan. 28, 1973; and three sisters, Wilma Meyers, Phyllis Kruse, and Laura White. Friends will be received Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State St., Olean. An Service of Incense will be held Thursday evening at 6:30pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by A Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Maronite Rite Church. The Rev. Anthony J. Salim, Pastor, will celebrate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Church 1102 Walnut Street, Olean, NY 14760. Online condolences may be made by clicking on the button above.
