Eleanor I. Dutton of 3135 Union Valley Road passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at home following an illness.
Eleanor was born on May 18, 1929 in Olean and was the daughter of Earl and Nina R. Willover, Ratzel. On June 7, 1947, in St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany, she married her husband of 64 years Karl V. Dutton who predeceased her on Feb. 9, 2012.
Mrs. Dutton was a life long resident of Hinsdale. She worked for 40 years as a custodian at the Hinsdale Central School. Eleanor and her husband were members of Hinsdale Guys & Gals club. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, knitting, and crocheting, but she truly loved having her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren in her life.
Eleanor is survived by one son, Karl E. Dutton of Hinsdale; two daughters, Susan M. Dutton of Hinsdale, and Barbara J. (Aaron) Wing of Watertown, SD; six grandchildren Valerie Villi, Tammy Smith, Kristine Kastler, Angela Wing, Joel Wing, and Laura Vocu; ten great grandchildren; three great great granchildren; one sister-in-law, Harriet Wilday of Olean; one brother-in-law, Vincent (Hope) Dutton of Callaway, MD; two brothers, Richard (Nancy) Ratzel of Cuba, and Robert Ratzel of Allegany; two sisters, Joanne Carls of Allegany, and Margaret Shettely of Louisiana; and one son-in-law, Tim Wing of Hinsdale.
Along with her loving husband, Eleanor was predeceased by three children, Karen Dutton in 1949, Joseph Dutton in 1957, and Sharon Wing in 2006; a daughter-in-law, Josephine Dutton in 2012; a sister, Doris Goud; a brother, Charlie and his wife Martha Ratzel; one sister-in-law, Joyce Ratzel; and a brother-in-law, Tom Carls.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on, Friday Jan. 24, 2014 at the funeral home at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Dennis L. Durfee, with HomeCare & Hospice care network, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
