Edna S. Macker of 233 � North Union Street passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital.
Edna was born on Feb. 10, 1937 in Tioga, Pa. and was a daughter of William and Sarah Weiskopff Macker. She was with her beloved companion, Samuel "Bucky" Murner, who pre-deceased her in 2002.
Edna worked as a waitress in Buffalo restaurants for 30 years, retiring in the early 1990's. She moved to Olean shortly after retiring. She was avid bingo player and was a volunteer at the Olean Senior Center and the Secret Pal Club.
Surviving Edna are three daughters, Rebecca M. Macker of Buffalo, Lori L. (Donald Licht) Lemmer of Olean, and Judith E. Macker of Olean; four siblings, Walter "Butch" Macker of Niversville, NY, Helen Ziminski of New Mexico, Clifford L. (Cathy) Withey of Allegany, and Sarah L. Bliss of Hinsdale; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving companion "Butch", Edna is pre-deceased by a sister Beverly Beard.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at which time a Funeral Service will be held. The Rev. Gerald C. Piper, a Chaplin at the Olean General Hospital, will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
