Donna G. Weber of 9941 Deer Creek Road passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at home, following a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving husband by her side.
Donna was born on March 3, 1951 in Winona, Minnesota and was the daughter of Lester and Dorothy Thomas Rahn. On Sept. 8, 1975 in Winona, MN she married her husband Harry "Bob" Weber, who survives.
Donna was a 1969 graduate of Lewiston High School and a 1973 graduate of Winona State University with a BS in Nursing. She served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 13, 1971 to March 1, 1977 as a Nurse. Donna received her Masters Degree as a Nurse Practitioner from Marshall University in 1993. They moved to Portville in 1996 and enjoyed working at the Olean Medical Group until 2010 when she retired due to her illness. During her career she had two articles published in the Nurse Practitioner Journal for her work and research in nursing.
Donna was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, a former lector and a choir member at Sacred Heart in Portville. She was a member of the American Legion, Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing Honor Society), and a volunteer at the Portville Free Library.
Surviving Donna besides her husband of 36 years are three children, Michael A. (Jenny) Weber of Peoria, Ill, Daniel A. (Valerie) Weber of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Juliana M. Weber of Hyattsville, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Aiden and Caitlin Weber.
Friends will be received on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 beginning with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
