Donald D. Luzier of 127 South 7th Street, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 in the Absolut at Allegany.
Mr. Luzier was born on Oct. 3, 1929 in Olean and was a son of Ray and Pearl Shay Luzier. On Dec. 16, 1950 in Olean he married Dorothy M. Wolfer, who survives.
Mr. Luzier began working at the age of 17 at Clark Brothers. He served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 19, 1951 to Feb 7, 1953 during the Loren War. Following his service he returned to Clark Brothers for two years. Mr. Luzier then went to work on his father in laws farm for a years before working at Crosby. Mr. Luzier went to work at Trail Co as a truck mechanic for about 7 years until the mid 1970's.
Mr. Luzier enjoyed wood working, fishing, music and especially playing his violin. He was a member of the Hinsdale American Legion Norton Chambers Post and the Olean VFW.
Surviving Mr. Luzier besides his wife are two sons, Ray E. Luzier of Allegany and Terry L. (Lynn M.) Luzier of Portageville; a daughter, Donna M. Luzier of Allegany; eight grand children; seven great grand children; two sisters, Betty (Donald) Underwood of Olean and Ester Roberts of Hinsdale; and several nieces & nephews including Patricia Johnston, Sandra Cicerello and Linda Cayax.
Mr. Lazier was pre-deceased by two brothers, Raymond & Joseph Luzier and a sister, Anna Kelly.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from 2-4 P.M. at which time a funeral service with full military honor's accorded by the members of the Hinsdale American Legion Norton Chamber Post.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Olean VFW or the Hinsdale American Legion.
