Batavia – Dean A. Marsh “No Caption”
Dean A. Marsh formally of 307 ½ Laurel Ave, passed away on Thursday November 4th 2021 following an illness.
Dean was born on April 15th, 1951 in Salamanca and was the son of Albert and Ruth (Chase) Marsh. On October 4th, 1984 he married Elizabeth Potter who survives.
Dean was a truck driver for Cattaraugus DPW. In his time he also drove for Solvay Iron Works and then for Riccelli Enterprise in East Syracuse for about 10 years before retiring in 2007. He enjoyed playing golf, building and collecting model cars, and working on his vehicles. Dean loved to watch NASCAR and bowl in his spare time Dean was also a member of the Little Valley VFW and American Legion. He was a Commander for the Little Valley VFW from 1984-1985.
Dean leaves behind two children, Misty (Drew Bennett) Potter of Olean, and Justin M. Marsh of Falconer. Dean is survived by 5 siblings; Clifford (Marie) Marsh of Sidney NY, Elizabeth Schayler of Franklinville, Hope Phillips of Little Valley, Norman (Charlyn) Marsh of Little Valley, and Brenda (James) Rivetti of Olean. Dean had one grandson, Ethan Potter.
Dean was predeceased by his parents, his sister Alberta Cherry, and two brother-in-laws, Charles Schayler, and James Cherry.
Friends will be received at Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Wednesday November 17th, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm The Rev. Rick Price Pastor of the Church of Christ in Bradford will officiate. Burial with a full military honor accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbell post 892 Ritual team will be held in the Cattaraugus County Field of Honor at mt. View Cemetery in Olean.
