Dawn M. Doherty of 2964 Route 244, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at home following a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Dawn was born Sep. 4, 1961 in Cuba and was a daughter of Roger V. and Dorothy E. Denning Middaugh, Sr. On May 10, 1980, at the Belmont Catholic Church, she married her husband of 33 years, Timothy P. "Cooter" Doherty, who survives. Dawn graduated from Belmont Central School in 1979. She worked for AVX for a couple of years and Criss Market for about 3 years in the 1980's. Dawn has volunteered at the Abbe Freeland Animal Sanctuary, a wildlife rehabilitation center, in Angelica as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed all sports and she especially enjoyed going to her son's ball games. Dawn enjoyed riding horses when she could. She loved her pets, especially her pug dogs. Along with her loving husband, Dawn is survived by her parents, Roger & Dorothy Middaugh of Scio; a son, Timothy P. Doherty, Jr. of Scio; a daughter, Emily C. (Andy Cline) Doherty of Belmont; several sister and brothers-in-law; and many nieces & nephews, cousins, aunts, & uncles. Dawn was predeceased by a sister, Verna L. Middaugh on Feb. 26, 2012; and two infant brothers, Roger V. & Jayson P. Middaugh. Friends will be received on Wed, April 9, 2014 in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba. From 12 noon until 3:00 pm at which time Funeral and Committal Services will be held. Mr. Naysim X. Simon will speak. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to the Abbe Freeland Animal Sanctuary 8104 Terwilliger Road, Angelica, NY 14709. Online condolences may be made by clicking on the button above.
