Mr. David L. VanDixon of 114 Orleans Avenue, Olean passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in Olean General Hospital.
Mr. VanDixon was born in Olean on August 31, 1943. He was the son of Glenn and Clara Zandy VanDixon.
Mr. VanDixon graduated from Olean High School in 1961. He worked as a mechanic and also repairing streets for the City of Olean for many years. Mr. VanDixon also worked at Camp Lakeland in Franklinville.
Mr. VanDixon enjoyed hunting, fishing and using his metal detector.
Mr. VanDixon is survived by his mother, Clara VanDixon of Olean; a son, Jeffery L. VanDixon of Olean; a daughter, Kelly J. (Merle) Bean of Hinsdale; two brothers, Phil (Aline) VanDixon of Tennessee and Glenn (Marybeth) VanDixon of Olean; a sister, Cecelia (Walter) Gordnier of Olean; and three grandchildren, Josef VanDixon of Florida, Bradley R. Bean of Hinsdale, and Douglas L. Bean of Hinsdale.
