Olean – David W. Leavitt "Loving Family Man"
David W. Leavitt, of 220 Brookview Ave., passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Olean General Hospital, shortly after arrival following an apparent heart attack.
David was born on October 26, 1959 in Holyoke, MA and was a son of Dennis and Geraldine Enman Leavitt.
David grew up in a military family. They traveled through the Middle East and ended up in Niagara Falls. He worked construction before moving to Olean when he was 29 in 1988. David owned his own repair shop, Leavitt’s Auto, both in Olean and then in Hinsdale until he became disabled.
David enjoyed going fishing, four wheeling, riding his motorcycle, and going to car shows. He was very much a family man, always putting his family first, and was known as being the "Captain of his Ship." David loved his family and spending time with them and on family outings and gatherings.
David is survived by; his loving fiancée, Tammy L. Kranock of Olean; 6 children, David W. Leavitt II, Danielle Hogg, DeAnna Judware, Nicholas Leavitt, Jessica Leavitt, and Alyssa Kranock; 10 grandchildren, David III, Dillan, Symphony, Serenity, Savannah, Andrew, Cyrus, Ava, Sophia, and Asher; and 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and Addison.
