David G. Eisenhart

January 29, 1943 — February 22, 2011

David G. "Butters" Eisenhart, who committed his soul to "God", met his Savior�Jesus Christ�in the Garden February 22nd, 2011 at Millard Fillmore, Gates Circle Hospital in Buffalo. He went peacefully into the light while surrounded by his adoring and dedicated family. He was born Jan. 29th, 1943, the son of loving parents David & Marguerite (Curci) Eisenhart. In 1966 he married his best friend "MY Dora" L. Everitt. Butters was a life long resident of Olean, a talented musician, who played with John Bloise in the Aerovons, Red Arrow and the Braves, Clyde Dickerson & the Teardrops, Butters & the Bandits, Solid Gold, Little Richard & the Knights, Ebony and Ivory (feat. Dave Chapin & Fontilla Timmons) the Western Dynamics (feat. George & Joann Lewis), Freddy & the Jets, and last but not least�Bandana (feat. Jack Ellis). Butters was the founder of Summer Jam, a musical concert held yearly at Gargoyle Park, benefiting Starflight Medivac of Jamestown WCA and various local organizations. Butters worked in maintenance in the Pepsi Co, Superintendent of the Olean YMCA, a house painter, electrician, plumber and carpenter. He was the true "Jack of all Trades" who imparted his wisdom to his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fly fisherman, Master candidate chess player, and enjoyed a great game of poker. He is survived by his children; Cheryl (Al) Whitcher; Portville, NY, David G. Eisenhart Jr., Olean, NY, Gail Vida (Oliver "Fuzzy") Smith; Allegany, NY, and Donald Eisenhart; Gastonia, NC. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Matthew (Samantha) Corson, James Corson, Jesse (Kate) Corson, Nicholas Whitcher, William Eisenhart, Donald Smith, and David Smith. Additionally, this patriarch leaves behind his great grandchildren Alex Corson, Kelsey Corson, and Vida Corson, a brother Donald (Erma) Eisenhart of AZ and many nieces and nephews. Butters was predeceased by his parents, a sister Dolores Nolder, a brother William Eisenhart, and his son William Eisenhart and many relatives too numerous to mention, but not forgotten. "Thank You Lord" He will be sadly missed by his family and his spiritually adopted daughters, Lisa Phearsdorf and Cheryl (David) Gelder, both of Olean; as well as his lifelong friends and spiritual brothers James Housey, Fred LaBella, Richard Stringer, and Edward Babcock. We, as a family, know God has mercy and we praise him for it. ~ Amen Friends will be received on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at 2:00pm. The Rev. Andrew M. Bashwinger, Pastor of Grace Alliance Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dent Neurological Institute at 3980 Sheridan Drive in Buffalo, NY 14226.
