David E. Donohue

David E. Donohue of 40 Linwood Ave, Friendship. NY, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 in the Olean General Hospital following an lengthy illness. Mr. Donohue was born on July 14, 1954 in Lockport and was a son of Earl and Mary Stamp Donohue. On March 22, 1975 in Lockport he married his wife of 34 years Darlene Mangine, who survives. Mr. Donohue was a 1972 graduate of Lockport Senior High School. He served in the US Marines from Oct. 30, 1972 to Oct. 29, 1976. Mr. Donohue lived in a number of places including Niagara Falls and Jacksonville NC before moving to Friendship. He worked at Friendship Dairy for about 15 years retiring in 2000 due to his health. Mr. Donohue enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, playing music and sports. He truly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and especially attended all of grandchildren ball games. Surviving Mr. Donohue besides his wife are his mother Mary Donohue, of Friendship; a son, Matthew D.M. (Rhonda) Donohue of Friendship; two daughters, Melinda S. Donohue of Friendship, and Diane M. (John) Holly, Jr. of Friendship; five grandchildren, Kyle Simons, Dustin Holly, Jordan Holly, Kadence Donohue and Matthew Donohue Jr.; a brother, Jerry (Jennie) Donohue of Lockport; four sisters, Shirley (Bob) Washburn of Lockport, Dorothy Camman of Friendship, Marie (Robin) Beem of Walkerton, In., and Susie Lovewell of In.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Donohue was pre-deceased by his father Earl Donohue and an infant sister Kathy Donohue. Friends will be received on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7-9 P.M. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Duane C. Broadwell, Pastor of the Friendship Bible Baptist Church will officiate. Burial with full Military Honor's accorded by the Allegany American Legion will be in the Veterans Field of Honor in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Friendship Fire Department, Friendship NY 14739.
