David G. “Dave” Boser, 80, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, in Buffalo, New York.

Born on June 1, 1944, in Washington, D.C., Dave was the son of Raymond E. and Dorothy M. Nelson Boser. He lived most of his life in Olean, NY, but did enjoy visiting other places. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, where he was stationed in Japan from July 14, 1965, to July 12, 1969. His military service was a defining chapter in his life and reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment. He retired from Dexter Hysol in 2000, after working for them for 34 years. He enjoyed selling antiques and collectibles at the Salamanca Antique Mall.

Dave had a lifelong passion for history—particularly local Olean history—which he explored through photography, collecting memorabilia, and engaging with others who shared his interests. A man of many talents and curiosities, he also enjoyed working with computers and listening to music. His love for capturing moments through a lens reflected his thoughtful nature and appreciation for the world around him.

He was a loving father who cared deeply about his family. Dave is survived by his daughter Heather K. (Robert O'Brien) Boser his sister Audrey (Michael) Winicki, niece Michelle Winicki, and great-nephews Lincoln and Benjamin Vergosen. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved dogs Bear and Maggie, who brought him much joy over the years.

Dave believed in quiet charity—giving not for recognition but out of genuine compassion. He supported causes close to his heart and often helped individuals in need without fanfare or expectation.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
