Daniel H. Krick, II, of 317 N. Second Street, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 in the Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, in Buffalo following a brief illness.
Mr. Krick was born on August 16, 1950 in Olean and was a son of James Shalter and Arlouine Hall Krick. He was a 1968 graduate of Olean High School. Mr. Krick continued his education at Alfred University, where he received an Associates Degree in Publication & Communication in 1970. He began working at the Olean Times Herald, where he held various positions, including Building Managers, throughout his 20 career. In 1993 he bought the Olean Limousine Service which he was still currently operating as President.
Mr. Krick was a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. He was active in a number of local civic organizations including Olean Exchange Club where he served as past president, Olean Rotary Club, Olean Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Krick was also a member of the Bartlett Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf, which has been his passion since the age of three.
Dan is survived by a sister, Martha K. Robinson; one niece, Danielle; and two nephews, J. P. and James.
He is pre-deceased by a brother James Shalter Krick.
Friends will be received on Saturday, July 23, 2011 in the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Thomas S. Gramley, Rector, will officiate. Burial will be in the Wells Cemetery, Little Genesee, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Penn York Junior Golf or to the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church 109 South Barry Street, Olean, NY 14760.
