Dale R. Caskey (56) of 1019 Wellseley Ave., Modesto, California, formerly of Port Allegany passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 from injuries sustained in a motor cycle accident in Modesto.
Mr. Caskey was born on Jan. 15, 1952 in Port Allegany and was a son of Ray L. & Marilyn Van Scoter Caskey. On July 6, 1985 at his home in Modesto he married Marilyn Whitman Rollins, who survives.
Mr. Caskey was a 1970 graduate of Port Allegany High School where he played football and basket ball and received the athlete of the year award in his senior year. He continued his education and graduated from Clarion State Teacher Collage in 1974 with a Bachelors degree in Education. Following his Collage graduation he and a roommate road 10 speed bikes from Erie Pa to San Francisco, Ca. where he stayed.
Mr. Caskey worked for Bunge Foods for 24 years as a National Vice President in charge of marketing.
Mr. Caskey was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Modesto where he served as a Deacon for the past three years. He enjoyed riding motorcycle and had recently completing an 8000 mile trip to Alaska. Mr. Caskey also was an avid golfer and loved to work in his wood shop where he made his own kitchen cabinets. He was a devoted family man & Christian and will be deeply missed.
Surviving Mr. Caskey besides his wife are his mother and step father, Marilyn C "Bonnie" (E. Ray) Spink of Olean; a step son, Shea W. Rollins at home; a son, Ty W. Caskey at home; a brother, Ron R. (Bonnie) Caskey of Port Allegany; a sister, Sara Lynn (Joe) Keck of Roulette, Pa.; two step brothers, Mark E. Spink of Olean, and Bradley M. (Judy) Spink of Olean; two step sisters, Diane E. (William) Hasard of Hinsdale, and Lezlee A. Spink of Butler; and several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Caskey was pre-deceased by his father Ray L. Caskey on Oct. 19, 1977 and a nephew Nathan W. Russell on June 12, 1994.
A Memorial Service for family & friends will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6th, 2008 in the Port Allegany United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Randall W. Headley, Pastor, will officiate.
