Allegany – Clement A. "Butch" Bokman "Loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather"
Clement A. "Butch" Bokman, 83, formerly of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness.
Butch was born on December 6, 1936 in Albion and was a son of Michael and Mary Smith Bokman. He married his loving wife of 64 years, Arlene Giarrizzo, who survives.
Butch was a graduate of Albion High School. He had a long established career in the Automobile Industry, owning dealerships in the Olean and Buffalo areas. Early in his career, while working at his brother Mike's Buick Dealership in Medina, Butch received Buick's esteemed royal purple achievement award for having the top Buick sales performance in the country. He was the youngest ever to win the award at just 22 years of age. Butch and his wife Arlene, raised golden retriever puppies that many families in the Lockport area brought into their homes, made part of their families, and loved.
Butch lived on Wynkoop Road in Lockport, where he and his wife raised their 5 children, for over 40 years before moving to Allegany in 2017 to be closer to his family. He loved to have family and friends over for conversation that always involved his love of quarter horses. Growing up on a farm in Medina, taught Butch his love of animals. He trained calf roping horses and competed in rodeos for many years.
Along with his loving wife, Arlene, Butch is survived by; his 3 sons "the boys", Rick (Kathy) Bokman, Scott (Patti) Bokman, and Mark (Susan) Bokman; a sister, Rita Lewis; a son-in-law, Mark Leitzan; 5 grandchildren, Mike (Brittney) Bokman, Christa (Dan) Hunt, Nicki (Ryan) Williams, Ryan Bokman, Mathew Bokman; 3 great grandchildren, Max, Eli, and Emma; many beloved nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tom, Audrey, Bob, Albert, Tiffany, Don & Nancy, Bill "Big O", Carl, Doc & Mary Ruth, and Barb.
Butch was predeceased by; 2 daughters, Julie and Dr. Susan Bokman Leitzan; his sisters, Veronica "Ronnie" Gillmeister Cameron, Mary Basinait; his brothers, Michael, Henry, Joseph, and Jimmy Bokman
At this time Services will be private. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a date and time to be announced. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Albion.
