Claire B. Treusdell of 11 Hill Street passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in the Cuba Palliative care Unit at the Cuba Memorial Hospital.
Born April 28, 1910 in Belfast he was a son of Beebe Burt and Ethel Mae Hedden Treusdell. On May 3, 1946 in Cuba he married Jessica Jane Conway, who survives.
Mr. Treusdell was a 1930 graduate of Cuba High School. He enlisted in the US Army during WWII from May 8, 1942 till Dec. 16, 1945. Mr. Treusdell was employed at Cuba Ice Cream Company for a number of years and owned Claire Equipment Company until his retirement in 1984.
Mr. Treusdell was a member of the Cuba First Presbyterian Church and he was a member of Cuba-Friendship Masonic Lodge where he was also a past master. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Cuba Rod and Gun Club.
Mr. Treusdell enjoyed Coin Collecting, Music, Hunting, Fishing and playing cards with friends and family.
Surviving Mr. Treusdell besides his wife of almost 64 years are a son, John Robert Treusdell of Cuba and Oak Island, NC.; three daughters, Linda Ann Treusdell Eckert of Orangevale, CA.; Mary Jane Treusdell (David) Platt of Oswego, IL.; and Carol Sue Treusdell (Gerald) Ottman of Forest, VA.; six grandchildren, Michelle Eckert, Geoffrey Eckert, Mark Platt, Michael Platt, Gerald Ottman III, and Benjamin Ottman; and three sisters, Lena Bidwell, Ruth Law Barton, and Lola Smith.
At his family's request there will no services held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba.
