Olean – Bryan Wilson Hatch
Bryan “Abe” Wilson Hatch, 78, of the Portville Manor, passed away into his eternal home on January 22, 2022 in the Absolut Care Nursing & Rehab in Westfield following a brief illness.
Bryan was born on June 3, 1943, in Olean and was the son of LaVern A. and Josephine A. Hartwig Hatch. On March 3, 1982 in Allegany he married Mary Cappelletti who predeceased him on March 4, 2013. In his later years Bryan had the good fortune of finding his soul mate, Patricia “Patsy” Campbell of Muncy, PA and even though their time together was limited, they enjoyed being engaged and planning their future.
Bryan was a 1961 graduate of Portville Central School. He continued his education at Roberts Wesleyan College in North Chili for 3 years. Bryan worked at Johnson Motors in Springville and then he sold cars at H & H motors for 30 years, and then another 20 years a Marra Brothers in Olean. After which he worked at Paul Brown in Olean until his retirement in October of 2012.
The descendants of the LaVern and Josephine Hatch family number well over 150, and many occasions were joyously celebrated, and happy memories were made.
Bryan will long be remembered by anyone that knew him or had the pleasure of doing business with him as “a kind and good man”. He was an avid Bills, Portville Panthers and Bonnies basketball fan where he had season tickets for many years. Bryan was a tournament quality euchre player, and a faithful member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville.
Bryan is survived by his three children: Kimberly Ann Adams, and twins, Tammy Lee Walton and Bryan Wilson Hatch Jr.; ten grandchildren; and 3 siblings, Nancy A. Hatch Renner, Harold D. “Corky” (Debra) Hatch, and Bruce A. (Lynnette) Hatch.
Bryan was preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years, his parents, brother Ronald L. Hatch, and sister, Virginia D. Hatch Faulkner.
