Betty L. Bennett-Doran

Betty L. Bennett-Doran, age 80, formerly of Cuba, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010. Mrs. Doran was born on July 20, 1930 in Hornell, NY and was the daughter of George and Myrtle (Cary) Rowe. On Sept. 7, 1952, she married David R. Bennett, who pre-deceased her Feb. 1, 1998. She later married Bernard Doran who pre-deceased her on December 30, 2004. Mrs. Doran earned her RN from Arnot Ogden School of Nursing. She worked many years at Cuba Memorial Hospital. Betty retired from St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing Michigan to pursue her passion for RVing and seeing the country. Mrs. Doran is survived by her seven children, Diane Bennett, Deborah (Phillip Reisner) Bennett, Mark (Sue) Bennett, Dorotha Castellano, Andrew (Rita) Bennett, Doris Bennett, Patty (Ruth VanErp)Bennett; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; Two sisters - Maxine Martin and Mary Ellen (Dick) Johnson many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family. Mrs. Doran was pre-deceased besides her husbands and parents by a beloved infant daughter, Martha Cary Bennett; and two brothers, Richard Rowe and Elliott Rowe. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 24 Genesee Pkwy., Cuba, NY 14727 on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at which time a Memorial Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local library.
