Olean- Anne W. Vogt “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother”
Anne W. Vogt, 88 of Olean, NY and former longtime resident of Geneva passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024.
Born in Olean on December 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James Albert and Mary Andrews Whitman.
Anne graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges where she met her husband, the late James Vogt of Geneva, NY. They raised their family in Geneva and were very active in the community and Hobart and William Smith College affairs.
Anne worked as a teacher and homemaker before returning to school to earn her Master’s Degree in Hotel Administration at Cornell University in 1982. She held various jobs in that field in Geneva. She spent many years as a volunteer, advocating for mental health reform though National Alliance of Mental Illness.
Anne was an avid reader and bird watcher and passed on her love of those hobbies to her grandchildren. She loved pets and was especially fond of her constant companion dog, Emmy, later in life.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Mary W. (Tim) Isaman of Olean, her son Andrew A. (Kathleen) Vogt of Stratham, NH; six grandchildren: Jessica Sick, Timothy Isaman Jr, William Vogt, James Vogt, Anna Vogt, and Henry Vogt, two great grandchildren: Alivia and Ayden Sick.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was predeceased by her son James and her sister Jean Carbonar.
A burial will be held later this summer. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
