Allegany- Alice Gray “Loving Companion, Mother & Grandmother”
Alice Gray of 123 Chipmonk Road passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Buffalo General Hospital.
Alice was born September 9, 1937 in Buffalo and was the daughter of the early Eugene and Genivie Furman. She was formerly married to Harold D. Hillman Sr. and then to Allen R. Gray Jr.
Alice was raised in Salamanca. As an adult she was a “Jane of all trades” and worked in a number of jobs including being a traveling nurse, contracting doing roofing and siding. A bus monitor for Coach USA. Alice volunteered at John J. Ash Community Center for the Meals on Wheels.
Alice attended the Knapp Creek United Methodist Church. She was formerly a Cub Scout Dene Mother and a member of the Rebeccas.
Along with her loving companion of 21 years, Ralph E. “Butch” Fox Jr., Alice is survived by; 3 sons, Harold Dean Hillman Jr. of AZ, LaRoy E. (Michele) Hillman of TX and Douglas W. (Shar) Hillman of Salamanca and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alice was predeceased by her parents.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. Gerald C. Piper will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
