Wilbur "Willie" E. Button, of Hinsdale passed away, Sunday, May 1, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.
Willie was born June 24, 1955 in Olean and was the son of Wilbur and Frances Grube Button. He attended Portville Central School and served in the US Army for almost 10 years, from Dec. 28, 1973 to Dec. 23, 1983, receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant.
Willie held positions with Bush Industries, Fitzpatrick and Weller and was an Over the Road Truck driver. He a member of the Hinsdale American Legion. Willie was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed shooting pool, hunting and fishing.
Willie is survived by two brothers, Paul (Cheryl) Button, Robert (Karen) Button, three sisters, Yvonne Button, Cheryl Button and Janine (Chris Schlosser) Moses, a brother-in-law Rick Moses and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Upon Willie's request, there will be no funeral or visitation. Private burial will held at the convenience of the family.
There will be a celebration of his life, gathering at the Hinsdale American Legion on Saturday, May 21st at 3pm. Please come and share your memories and stories of your adventures with Willie. Those of you who ride, please come on your bike for one last ride for Willie.
