Stephen P. "Biff" Geary of 921 Brook Street, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 in the Olean General Hospital following a courageous battle with colon cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Stephen was born Nov. 29, 1952 in Olean and was a son of Thomas C. and Margaret Eberl Geary. On April 29, 1978, in Allegany, he married his wife of 37 years, Catherine R. Rickicki, who survives.
Stephen attended Allegany Central School and Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, PA. He worked at the family furniture business, Geary Furniture, in Allegany for a number of years. Stephen also worked at Rob's Supplies, OSM and Hysol for about 12 years. Stephen lived in Arizona for about 2 years. He worked at Precision Fabrication Controls in Bradford, PA. Stephen was a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Church, where he was an usher and Eucharistic Ministry. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, racing, but most of all he truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and he was a friend of Bill's.
Along with his loving wife, Catherine, Stephen is survived by two children, Bridgette M. Geary of Olean, and Stephen A. (Susan) Geary of Brooksville, FL; six grandchildren, Serena, Greenly, Avaline, Jada Rose, Alyvia, & Breeyamarie; eight siblings, David J. (Susan) Geary of Manlius, Grace E. (David) Nolan of Ocala, FL, Megan M. Blafkin of Olean, Shannon L. Brown of Troy, MO; Helen S. Gossaman of Augusta, GA, Maureen A. (Mike) Ruether of Allegany, Colleen M. (Craig) Hartburg of Charlottesville, VA, and Catherine Farnum of Olean; and many nieces & nephews.
Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:45 pm at which time a Prayer Service will be held. Sr. Regina Aman OSF of St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. There will be Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Mary of the Angels Church on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10:00 am. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor of the St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate.
