Stata B. Stevens

Stata B. Stevens of the Absolute at Allegany, formerly of 135 N. Sixth St. passed away Friday (Oct. 24, 2008) at Olean General Hospital. Born Aug. 22, 1914, in Bradford Pa., she was a daughter of Theo and Pearl Burgett. On Feb. 7, 1938 she married Robert E. Steven's who predeceased her Nov. 23, 1989. Mrs. Stevens was a graduate of Olean High School. She worked as a secrerary at th Exchage Bank for a number of years prior to her retirement. Her husband was owner of Fox and Stevens jewelry on North Union Street. Surviving are several nieces and a nephew, Dart B. Peavy of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and many friends. she was predeceased by a son, Tedd R. Stevens in 1962. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean, on Tuesday (Oct. 28, 2008) from 1 to 2 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Derek J. Cheek, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
