Shelley D. Mitchell of 1067 Main Street, passed away May 30, 2015, at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Shelley was born June 17, 1965 in Olean and was a daughter of George "Buster" and Maybell Westlake Scott. On Nov. 14, 1986 in Olean, she married her husband of 28 years, Gerald R. Mitchell, who survives. Shelley graduated from Allegany High School. She worked as an Automotive and Truck Parts Specialist for most of her life starting at Smethport Auto, then going to AutoZone and Advanced Auto Parts. Shelley was also a journalist for the York, PA newspaper, along with dealing in rare commodities and importation. She drove truck/tractor trailer. Shelley was a member of NORML. She enjoyed learning new things and building car motors. Shelley's true love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Along with her loving husband, Shelley is survived by two children, James David Mitchell of Duke Center, PA, and Tanya Pizano of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, James David Jr., Alexander, Jose Jr., Selena, and Jennifer; a sister, Linda Hollamby of Portville; Mary Collett, her other mother that loves her of Limestone; a brother-in-law, Edwin Coder of Tampa, FL; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Novicki of Belmont. A Private Graveside Service was held yesterday at the Allegany Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Schiveley, Pastor of the Duke Center Methodist Church, officiated.
