"Our loving son, brother, father, fianc� and friend" Scott A. Matya of 108 � Orange Ave. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
He was born on December 29, 1977, in Marion, Indiana, a son of Paul Sr. and Yvonne Ursoy Matya. Scott last attended Allegany Central Schools.
Scott's entrepreneurial spirit took him on professional careers as an 18 wheel semi- truck driver; a construction business owner, and lastly as an airbrushing and T-shirt printing business owner of SM Custom Airbrushing.
Scotty will be remembered as a loving, artistic and talented person who gave all of himself and anything that he had to his family and friends. His artistic talent was focused on airbrushing. Scotty was tremendously proud of the ocean themed murals that he painted on the walls of the children's room at Believer's Chapel in Allegany. Scotty enjoyed motorcycles; four wheeling; caring for his salt water fish tanks, and accumulating an extensive collection of Zippo and other branded lighters.
Surviving besides his parents of Olean is a daughter Heather Rose Matya and son Quinton Michael Matya ("Q") and their mother Teri Kahle; and son Jesus Paul Michael Matya ("JP") and his mother and Scotty's fianc�e, Daisy Evelyn Nichols, all of Olean; a sister, Tammy L. (Christopher) Rovito of Fort Pierce, Fla.; his special aunt Betty Ursoy Carter of Rochester; his special uncle John A. Matya of Fairport; his loving nieces Brittany Matya, Alina Matya, Gabrielle 'Gabby' Matya and two great-nieces Luna and Lilly; in addition to several very special cousins and friends.
Scott was predeceased by his brother, Paul L. Matya Jr; his grandparents, and his aunt Linda Clark.
A private service was held Tuesday (Sept. 27, 2016) at Believer's Chapel, Allegany, with Lead Pastor Sean Obergfell officiating. A public gathering and celebration of his life will be held today, Wed. Sept. 28, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home Inc. #646 E. State St., Olean.
