Robert Allen Croft

Robert Allen Croft, 82, of 2857 Route 16 North, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, following a short illness. Bob was born Nov. 5, 1933 in Olean and was a son of George and Helen Fath Croft. He was formerly married to Barbara Sherwood. Bob graduated from Olean High School in 1952. He was a US Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Coral Sea in the Special Weapons division during the Korean War from Feb. 12, 1953 to Feb. 6, 1957. After his service, Bob started a 42 year career at what was then Clark Brothers and later on Dresser Rand, mostly in the maintenance department Machinery Repair, retiring in 1999. After retiring, he drove and maintained the veterans van during the week and enjoyed going to dirt track races on the weekends. Bob is survived by four sons, Richard A. (Angela) Croft of Hinsdale, James E. Croft of Allegany, Steven R. croft of Olean, and Dustin M. (Amy) Croft of Belmont, NC; four step children; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Cody, Chase, Zoey, & Mac; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Jack (Louise) Croft and their daughter, Linda Croft all of Olean. Bob was predeceased by his parents, George and Helen (Fath) Croft; and his second wife, Nina Hughes. There will be no Public Visitation or Services.
