Ralph R. Middaugh of 5675 County Road 31A, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 shortly after arrival at the Buffalo General Hospital following an apparent stroke. Ralph was born on June 22, 1937 in Belmont and was a son of Vincent "Toby" and Ruby Sortore Middaugh. On May 31, 1958 in Wellsville, he married his wife of 58 years, Ruth A. Ward, who survives. Ralph began working on the family farm at a young age, which he continued to run until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Knights Creek Methodist/Baptist Church, the Belmont Grange, and Saddle Dusters. Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, and pulling horses and is a former member of the National Horse Pullers Association. Along with his loving wife, Ralph is survived by three children, Steven R. Middaugh of Belfast, Wayne W. (Valerie) Middaugh of Oramel and Laurie A. (Bruce) Smith of Webster; seven grandchildren, Bryce Middaugh, Jason (Danielle)Middaugh, Wayne (Kim) Middaugh, Jr., Robbie Smith, Conner Smith, Cassy (Kyle) Crowner, and Steve (Joleen) Middaugh, Jr.; ten great grandchildren, Xaiden, Hailey, Xavier, Harley, Bradley, Brooke, Libby. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba, on Wednesday April 26, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm at which time Funeral Services will be held. The Rev. Marc J. Chamberlin, Pastor of the Genesis Bible Church of Belmont, will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Amity Rescue Squad 5184 NY-244, Belmont, NY 14813.
