Pasqualina Reitano of the Pines Health & Rehab Center, formerly of 425 N. 7th Street, Olean, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Reitano was born on April 7, 1908 in Reading, Pa. and was a daughter of Anthony and Mary Carey Ferraro. She married her husband Carmelo Reitano on Oct. 24, 1936 in Watkins Glenn and then they moved to Olean. He pre-deceased her on March 19, 1969.
Mrs. Reitano was born in the US and moved to Italy as child. After her mother died in Italy she returned to the US as an adult and lived in Watkins Glenn. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and working in the garden and planting flowers. Mrs. Reitano also enjoyed cooking & playing bingo but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grand and great grandchildren.
Surviving Mrs. Reitano are two daughters, Veneranda DeGiglio of Olean, and Mary (F. William) King of Green Cove Springs, Fl.; six grandchildren, Bruno (Lori) DeGiglio of Olean, Maria (William) Hastings of Geneva, Patricia LeRoy of Olean, Michelle (Kenneth) Heidle of Springville, Carmen DeGiglio of Olean, and Michael (Jennifer) King of Middleburg, Fl.; 13 great grandchildren, Brianna & Benjamin DeGiglio, Kaitlin & Daniel Hastings, Nicholas, James & Jason LeRoy, Kenneth, Megan & Bethany Heidle, Maria DeGiglio, and Taylor & Benjamin King.
In addition to her husband Mrs. Reitano was pre-deceased by a son-in-law Mario DeGilio on Jan. 11, 1993.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 beginning with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Angels Church. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor will celebrate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, N.Y.
