Merle James Larrabee

September 22, 1958 — October 28, 2011

Jimmy Larrabee of 4653 Humphrey Road, passed away on Oct. 28, 2011 in the Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Jimmy was born on Sept. 22, 1958 in Olean and was a son of Merle James & Patricia A. Muniga Larrabee, Sr. He attended Portville High School. Jimmy worked on farms as a boy. He later worked as a Meat Cutter/Butcher for Johnsons Meat Processing in Eldred for a number of years. Jimmy had a passion for truck driving and drove for Ficel Transportation in Blasdell for over 10 years before stopping due to illness. He enjoyed hunting & fishing NASCAR & wrestling, driving stock car and was a good card player. Surviving are a son, Mark A. (Tasha Taylor) Larrabee of Humphrey; three daughters, Jamie E. (Jason M.) Leese of Olean, Samantha S. Larrabee who lived with him and helped to care of him, and Rebecca A. "Becky" Larrabee of Salamanca; a grandson, Marcus A. Larrabee; a brother, Karl W. Larrabee of Portville; two sisters, Diane M. (John) Miller, and Kathleen A. (Victor) Buck both of Portville; several nieces & nephews including Tiffany Vaughn helped to take of him; and former companion and close friend, Sally J. Ginnery of Humphrey. Jimmy was pre-deceased by an infant grandson, Austin J. Puszcz on Dec. 17, 2008, and an infant sister, Kimberly Larrabee. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at which time Funeral Services will be held. The Rev. Joel A. Royalty, Pastor of the Humphrey Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemtery, Allegany.
